Chocolatey almond mylk

This is for all the chocolate milkshake(mylkshake) lovers. No, I did not use dairy here, it is purely vegan and raw. I do not remember when initially it started as my dislike for milk and then passed on to all the dairy products. The smell of any dairy products brings disgust feeling in me. However I was introduced to nut milk to be considered an alternative, but I still could not encourage the idea to drink milk. I feel terrible at the idea of even consuming milk.

However, my little one once asked me looking at the TV add why I don't give her chocolate milk, well she is just like hates to even take milk. But the add looked so tempting and she wanted to taste it now, then came the idea of nut milk. I purchased a small carton from the stores, I was stupid to do so as looking at the contents mentioned made me feel very guilty about purchasing that carton. that being the first was the last one as well.

Since then I have been making Almond, cashew, pecans, sunflower and sometimes mixed nut milk. The flavours can be added as per our preference. This almond chocolate milkshake is amazing and never disappoints in taste.

Things required.

1/2 Cup Almonds soaked overnight and peeled.
4-5 Medjool dates.
1 Tbsp Raw cacao powder
Water as required

First blend the almonds with dates into a fine paste, then add cacao powder along with the required amount of water and blend well. normal measurement for a nut to water ratio I use is 1:6. however, you may choose to reduce or add more depending on how thick you need your milkshake.
The sweetness from the dates will not disappoint you, I tend to make it less sweet cos we like the taste of chocolate more. However, you may add more dates or any sweetener as per you desire. you may use a fine sieve or nut milk bag if you need fine milk, but I feel it would be even better to not strain the milk and drink as it is. this need not be boiled like regular milk, but if you desire hot chocolate you may warm up the milk on low flame while stirring continuously.

PS: you may top the milkshake with hemp seeds, any berries even sliced bananas. toppings are purely based on your choice.
