Papaya melon coolant smoothie

My understanding about food is based on colours, more colours tastier the food is. All colour veggies and fruits are edible according to me (bitter gourd is an exception, but sometime I eat that as well).  This is an extravagant coloured smoothie, natural colours of course. I do not include any processed or artificial colour in my food and so all colours come from either the fruits or veggies.

The onset of summer brings bright sun along with heat; best way to beat this heat is to bring body temperature down naturally. Do not go for cool drinks as the sugar rush isn’t good for health. Rather choose something wisely and see the difference. Adding coolant to reduce body heat is essential. I have added Almond gum here. Adding Almond gum or so called Badam pisin gives great texture to your drink and surely cools your body enough to beat the heat.

These small crystal like substances is almond gum, they are tiny crystal but they bloom really well when soaked overnight. It has no taste of its own and so blends well with any juice or smoothie it is added into. Also it adds lot of volume to your drink and added advantage you see.

This papaya melon coolant has:

½ cup of frozen Papaya.
½ cup of Honigmelone.
½ cup of muskmelon.
1” of Fresh Ginger.
1” of raw turmeric root.
1 tsp of Almond gum crystals soaked overnight,

Adding ginger and turmeric help you build immunity and help with digestion.
Blend all the ingredients until smooth and serve chilled. This will be mild sweet, however the ginger and turmeric taste would be over powering you may reduce quantity to suit your taste.

Note: Above ingredients are standard, however you may make slight changes to suit your taste buds.
